STREICHER and SENNEBOGEN – a longstanding success story

STREICHER, founded by master builder Max Streicher, recently celebrated its 100 year anniversary. Today, the company group with over 2,600 employees offers technology and services in four areas of expertise. In the fields of pipeline and plant construction, mechanical engineering, civil and structural engineering, raw and construction materials, projects are carried out with specialist expertise and an extensive focus on the customer.

Qualified and motivated employees, modern construction machinery and technical innovations are important factors for the success of the STREICHER group.

The extensive fleet of machinery includes a large number of SENNEBOGEN machines for various different fields and uses. The high level of reliability and availability offered by the machines is particularly valued by STREICHER.  "From the start of the 1970s there has been a close and successful business relationship between STREICHER and SENNEBOGEN," states manager Hubert Ruderer.

The following three examples highlight the versatility of SENNEBOGEN telescopic cranes on a wide variety of construction sites.

The 613 mobile telescopic crane is mainly used by Streicher to reduce the long setup and dismantling times in situations requiring a rapid change of location. This particular example shows the device in use during bridge construction on the A72, AS Zwickau West. Underpasses with a length of around 25 m, a clearance width of 5.5 m and a clearance height of 4.5 m are being built under the new road as access roads. The 613 with a load of 16 t and 18.8 m boom length is used for all kinds of lifting work. Whether shell parts, working platform or concrete bucket, the 613 is an immensely versatile machine offering rapid availability. The compact and robust design of the machine also makes it suitable for tasks with limited space. The elevating and tilting comfort cab guarantees the best possible view and safety.

The SENNEBOGEN 643 Mobile with a boom length of 30 m (with a fly jib up to 44 m) and loads of up to 40 t is the big brother of the 613. The pictures show the 643 in use during pipeline construction in Bochum. The existing gas pipes had to be moved during the extension of the A40 to 6 lanes. This process involves extending the protective pipe, dismantling the old media pipe and installing the new DN 800 steel pipes. The 12 m pipes are laid precisely into the 6.5 m deep pits by the SENNEBOGEN 643. The highly sensitive controls and handling of the telescopic crane are a major advantage in this task.

The 643 crawler is also involved in pipeline construction in Berlin. Streicher is working in a consortium with PRT Rohrtechnik at the Berlin Brandenburg International Airport to build the underground fuel supply for the aircraft. This process involves laying several kilometres of large-volume steel pipes, which run from the existing tank store via a pump station over 10 large concrete pits with distributor fittings and under the aerofoil of the jets. The entire pipe system runs underground to depths of between 2.5 and 5.0 m. The 643 crawler is used mainly to lower the pipelines weighing around 6 t and up to 40 m in length. Flexibility on the difficult terrain is essential on this construction site. The crawler track enables the machine to move under load without problems and to be manoeuvred in even the tightest of spaces. The robust, hydraulic telescopic undercarriage combined with the powerful swing drive guarantee optimal stability and fast working cycles.

The extremely good service provided by the SENNEBOGEN distribution and service partner IBS GmbH based in Röthenbach near St. Wolfgang received particular praise. Through competent advice, longstanding experience and exemplary service, optimal use and operation of the SENNEBOGEN machines is guaranteed.
