With the new 880 G, SENNEBOGEN introduces a 280-ton material handler and strategically expands its port equipment portfolio between the 875 G and its larger port material handling machines. Designed for efficient cargo handling on Handysize vessels up to 35,000 DWT, the machine combines high load capacities with an exceptional working range of 23 to 38 meters.
With working ranges from 23 to 38 meters, the 880 G covers an exceptionally broad range of port handling applications. Shorter boom configurations enable efficient handling of inland vessels and a wide variety of general cargo. At the same time, longer equipment configurations provide the reach required for high-performance bulk material handling on vessels ranging from Handysize to Panamax class.
As a result, the 880 G combines applications that previously required different machine classes into a single, highly flexible solution. High load capacities, variable equipment configurations, and versatile undercarriage options make the machine a true all-rounder for modern port operations.
The SENNEBOGEN 880 G offers a wide range of configuration options. Customers can choose between a 500 kW Stage V diesel engine (also available in Stage III configuration upon request) or a fully electric version powered by a 460 kW electric motor.
Like other SENNEBOGEN material handlers, the 880 G is equipped with the proven SENNEBOGEN Green Hybrid System, which can reduce operating costs by up to 50 percent through efficient energy recuperation.
The machine also provides maximum flexibility in undercarriage configurations. Options include mobile and crawler undercarriages, a four-point pedestal undercarriage, and custom rail-mounted solutions, all of which can be combined with portal and pylon configurations.
Operator comfort is enhanced by the latest-generation Portcab featuring hydraulic cab elevation and improved visibility of both vessel and cargo handling areas.
The development of the 880 G placed particular emphasis on user-friendliness, durability, and ease of maintenance. At the heart of the machine is the latest SENcon control system with electronic pilot controls. Individually configurable operating modes and customizable joystick assignments allow operators to tailor machine performance to specific applications and personal preferences.
The machine has also been engineered specifically for demanding port environments. Enhanced weather-resistant components increase durability during continuous operation. Stainless-steel electrical cabinets are included as equipment, while hydraulic and electrical lines are routed in protected locations.
The new access concept further improves ergonomics and safety. With a stair angle of just 50 degrees and no intermediate access hatches, operators can reach the machine comfortably and safely.
The new uppercarriage design of the 880 G was developed with a clear focus on simplified maintenance and maximum uptime. The enclosed uppercarriage reliably protects all service areas from weather conditions. All maintenance access points are covered, illuminated, and protected from rain.
A centralized service box provides quick access to the machine’s main controls, lubrication pumps, and hydraulic filters. The main valve block is additionally protected within the structure. Central maintenance hatches on the uppercarriage can be opened hydraulically and independently of an external power supply. For maintenance work directly on the machine, an integrated 300 kg service crane is also included.
