SENcon is SENNEBOGEN’s integrated machine control system. It assists operators, fleet operators, and service personnel in operating, monitoring, and optimizing the machine. A 10-inch touchscreen display allows users to control key machine functions and access individual operator profiles. Assistance systems, remote service, over-the-air software updates, and the analysis of machine data lay the foundation for safe, efficient, and future-proof machine operation.
The current SENcon technology platform was introduced in 2025. It forms the basis for the control, assistance, diagnostic, and software functions available today. Older publications on SENcon may refer to earlier system generations.
SENcon consolidates key machine functions into a clear and intuitive user interface. Important settings and functions can be controlled directly via the 10-inch touchscreen display in the operator’s cab. Additionally, frequently used functions can be assigned to switches or buttons.
Custom driver profiles allow users to save and quickly recall personal settings for operation, comfort, and machine parameters. This is particularly advantageous when drivers change, for different applications, or during multi-shift operations. As a result, the machine can be adapted more quickly to the respective driver and the current task.
SENcon supports the operator with intelligent assistance functions for safe and precise machine movements. One example is the “Virtual Wall” work area limitation. This feature defines a specific work area that the machine must not cross.
Such assistance functions help the operator execute movements in a controlled manner and stay within specified work areas. At the same time, SENcon provides the technical foundation for advanced automation functions and semi-automated machine movements.
In this way, the control system supports both workplace safety and precise, efficient machine operation.
The excavator scale integrated into SENcon enables continuous weighing of the load in the bucket. This allows the current volume of material being moved to be recorded directly during the work process.
The data collected provides operators and site managers with a better overview of the machine’s handling performance. It can be used as an additional data source to evaluate work processes, compare performance metrics, and identify opportunities for optimizing machine utilization.
In this way, SENcon combines machine control with immediately actionable information on productivity in daily operations.
SENcon enables remote access to relevant machine data. This allows service personnel to analyze machine information and search more effectively for possible causes of malfunctions.
Remote diagnostics facilitate a faster assessment of the machine’s condition and can help avoid unnecessary on-site service visits. If a service visit is necessary, the service team has access to important information in advance.
Remote service can thus help shorten diagnostic times, streamline service processes, and increase machine availability.
SOTA stands for “Software Updates Over-the-Air.” This feature allows software updates and new functions for the machine control system to be deployed remotely. Physical access to the machine is not always required for this.
SOTA reduces the effort required for software updates and helps keep SENcon up to date. At the same time, the technology lays the groundwork for further developing the machine control system’s functions even after a machine has been delivered.
SENcon collects and processes information from the machine and its operational processes. When used in conjunction with the SENtrack telematics system, this machine data can be utilized for further analysis.
This provides operators with additional information about the machine’s condition, performance, and usage. The data can help them better evaluate operational processes, identify opportunities for maintenance and optimization, and plan machine usage more efficiently.
SENcon and SENtrack perform different tasks and complement each other in day-to-day machine operation.

SENcon is used in all machines in the current SENNEBOGEN G Series. The control system assists operators in operating the machine and, depending on the model, provides features such as custom operator profiles, assistance systems, diagnostic functions, and digital services.
Machines equipped with SENcon include, among others:
The SENcon features available on each machine model may vary depending on the machine, equipment, and application. For more information, please visit the respective product pages.
The Virtual Wall is a digital work area boundary within SENcon. It defines a virtual boundary for the machine’s work area. If the boom were to cross this boundary, the system would block the corresponding movement. This feature helps the operator stay within specified work areas and perform machine movements in a more controlled manner.
Yes. SENcon enables continuous weighing of the load in the grapple. This allows, for example, the machine’s current material-handling capacity to be recorded. Operators and plant managers thus receive additional information about the volume of material moved and the productivity of the work process.
