In their work to secure the cliffs along the Hadamar railway line, Himmel & Papesch Bauunternehmung GmbH & Co. KG relied on the SENNEBOGEN 608 Multicrane.
Himmel & Papesch needed a very special solution for this particular piece of work. In order to protect the track ballast for rail traffic and ensure that the cliff was secured as quickly as possible, the SENNEBOGEN 608 was equipped with a hydraulically folding upwards rail carriage and a working platform affixed to the lifting forks. The drill mast was mounted on this platform. The boom length of 20 m enabled all securing points to be reached with ease. In this way, approx. 3,000 m² of wire netting was fixed quickly and economically, ensuring safe, disruption-free rail traffic.
“The 608 was ideal for this job because of its compact design. We kept having to free up the rails to make way for trains, and get the 608 back onto the track in a very restricted space,” says Lothar Latosik, responsible site manager at Himmel & Papesch. Four-wheel steering with three possible steering modes endows the SENNEBOGEN Multicrane 608 with outstanding manoeuvrability. In combination with the hydrostatic travel drive and powerful 91 kW TIER III engine, the permanent four-wheel drive ensures good traction and speeds of up to 18 mph, even on difficult terrain.
A unique feature in this class is the comfortable cab, which can be elevated to a viewing height of 4.1 meters and tilted to 17° using a foot-operated switch. “This was a major advantage when setting up and precisely positioning the drill mast. It saved us a great deal of time and enabled us to work more safely, as well,” continues the site manager. The operator controls are arranged clearly in line with the latest considerations of ergonomics, and provide the machine with excellent handling.
Another advantage of the SENNEBOGEN 608 Multicrane is the versatility of this compact, powerful all-rounder. The quick-change system means that a great number of attachments can be affixed quickly and reliably. As customers will see, there are numerous ways of putting this machine to work on construction sites.
