Electric material handler with guaranteed mobility: SENNEBOGEN 821 with integrated Powerpack

The advantages of an electric material handler combined with the flexibility of a mobile machine – that is what the new SENNEBOGEN 821 offers with its integrated Powerpack, as shown in the waste recycling done for MEAB.

At first glance, the new SENNEBOGEN 821 delivered by sales and service partner Swecon Baumaschinen to Märkische Entsorgungsanlagen-Betriebsgesellschaft mbH (MEAB) in the middle of 2015 appears to be an ordinary material handler. However, as soon as operator Stephan Oeter turns the key and starts the 90 kW machine, it catches the ear. Or rather it doesn't. The quiet electric motor gently starts up and Stephan Oeter begins working. Only then does one notice the cable plugged into the undercarriage to power the machine. Since the new SENNEBOGEN 821 electric material handler is primarily used indoors, the decision-makers quickly opted for an electric material handler In addition to the low operating and service costs, this electric machine has the added benefit of not producing any exhaust in the hall, eliminating exhaust treatment issues and the need for any particulate filters. The power itself is environmentally friendly, generated just a few meters away using landfill gas.

On-board Powerpack: just unplug and go

Since the machine also has to be quickly driven out of the hall or used at another location when necessary, a design was required that combined the advantages of an electric drive with the mobility necessary in the machine. Operator Oeter just removes the large plug, rolls the power cable up on the drum and starts the diesel power pack built into the counterweight of the 821. All that is left is to switch the motor to diesel mode and the machine is ready to go.

This unique concept that combines the greatest mobility with the advantages of an electric drive was developed by SENNEBOGEN in close collaboration with MEAB and Swecon. Instead of a counterweight, the rear of the material handler contains a powerful diesel power pack. This provides the motor with energy, and all work functions can also be operated individually through the fuel-saving Powerpack. The advantage is clear. In just a few steps, the electric machine can be driven anywhere without having to account for the limited length of the power cable. Thanks to the integration of the power pack into the counterweight, the 821 remains exceptionally maneuverable and compact, and fully utilizes its strengths as an expert recycler.

Ergonomic work area and ideal overview included

In addition the advantages of the electric drive, the SENNEBOGEN 821 also boasts tried and tested equipment features. With a range of 12 m, the machine continuously feeds two shredders with domestic waste that is sent to MEAB in Schöneiche from the Brandenburg and Berlin area for further processing. Due to odor and dust, work is performed in a large hall. For the operator, the cab, which can be elevated up to 2.7 m, also comes with climate control and protective ventilation. A comprehensive camera system and an LED lighting package provide an optimal view during taxing long-term use. For maintenance and service, numerous access ladders and platforms ensure optimal access.

SENNEBOGEN delivered a special machine design to Brandenburg in the form of the new 821 Mobile Electro. A Powerpack in the rear ballast gives the material handler the necessary energy without the need for a power cable. The 821 combines an energy-saving electric drive with extreme flexibility and mobility.
