Almost two years have passed since the foundation of SENNEBOGEN Multi Line GmbH & Co. KG and the move to the new Plant 4 in Wackersdorf. The Multi Line machine types, currently the 355 E, are being built here, but extensive expansions are already in the pipeline. The perfect reason to present the new plant and the processes in more detail.
The centerpiece of the Multi Line site is the 1,300 m² assembly hall with setting and washing hall, where the telehandlers are built in several assembly steps. Just like in the main plant on the other side of the road, the company is also relying on established cross-focused production here. This means that up to nine machines can be in circulation at the same time in a relatively small space. The assembly steps are divided into five main steps, from cabling and hydraulic components to the engine and drive unit, cab and boom assembly. The base frame moves bit by bit on a rail system. The main components are also pre-assembled in four pre-assembly areas and positioned and installed using overhead cranes.
Before the relocation of production at the end of 2019, the existing hall was extensively refurbished and equipped to the latest standards. With underfloor heating, energy-saving lighting and ergonomic installation spaces including a lifting and rotating device for the entire base body, the equipment leaves nothing to be desired. Its own outdoor storage and test areas and a newly equipped office unit complete the plant. In total, the plant covers a total area of 15,000 m².
In addition to the new product division, the team has also been restructured in recent years. Many young, motivated colleagues as well as experienced employees from the existing plant inspired Managing Directors Sebastian Sennebogen and Alexander Scherer to introduce new tasks in a growing team. More than 40 people are now employed for the Multi Line alone, from work preparation and development to installation, adjustment and shipping. Together, they make sure that several hundred machines leave the factory successfully to the global customers.
The stand-alone product line of the Multi Line currently includes the 355 E as the first telehandler, which will soon also be joined by a little brother. Larger models and other types will also follow in the coming years. "We want to continue to grow," explains Managing Director Sebastian Sennebogen, not just referring to the product range. "If we continue this successful development, we will soon have to talk about expanding our production capacities," he adds. In addition, a corresponding plot of land has already been secured in the immediate vicinity and the planning has already begun.
