SENNEBOGEN 5500 in use at Neeb for new wind farms

A new SENNEBOGEN 5500 crawler crane has recently been placed in service with the international crane company, Gustav A. Neeb GmbH & Co. KG. As one of its first deployments the 180 t crane is working as loading machine for wind turbine construction.

The energy revolution is on the doorstep and also in Germany, the number of wind turbines steadily rises. Especially in Westphalia large wind farms are currently being built again in open areas - a logistical challenge. The gigantic wind turbines are slowly growing in height piece by piece. The components arrive by truck on a daily basis and are unloaded at a central logistics site with a new SENNEBOGEN 5500. This is where the crane company, Gustav A. Neeb successfully uses its 261 kW crawler crane for loading and unloading tasks. For these tasks the SENNEBOGEN 5500 is equipped with a 41 m long main boom, and it is impressive in this regard due its maximum stability and optimal reliability. The component parts of the wind turbines can weigh as much as 64 t, and thanks to the powerful 120 kN winch, they can be moved conveniently.

A particular advantage of the crawler crane is quickly evident at the extensive site. Thank to the wide-gauge crawler undercarriage, not only is the 5500 extremely stable, it can also be easily moved, even under load. After just a few weeks the responsible parties at Neeb are praising the flexibility and reliability of the SENNEBOGEN machine. In the comfortable, ergonomic Maxcab, the driver always has an overview of his work environment.
A well-designed self-assembly system ensures minimal set-up time and easy transport of the machine between the different deployment sites.

The local Sales and Service Partner, BRR Baumaschinen Rhein-Ruhr GmbH, handles the regular service and is the competent contact on site.

    Statement:
"With the SENNEBOGEN 5500 crawler crane we can work with extreme flexibility and we are even safely underway under load. Even after a short time the high reliability has already convinced us." owner Gustav Armin Neeb
