Questions and answers

What is a telehandler?

Definition telehandler

A telehandler is a mobile construction machine that can be operated with various attachments and equipment. Various synonyms exist, for example, telescopic arm loader, teleloader, telescopic wheel loader or bucket loader. Telehandlers can be operated with versatile attachments. Because the machines are very compact, maneuverable and flexible, they can handle a wide variety of work tasks. Consequently, they are used in a variety of industries and applications:

  • Construction sites
  • Recycling
  • Wood
  • Wood chips
  • Industry
  • Logistics
  • Agriculture
  • etc.

By the way: machines of the manufacturer or the telehandler brand SENNEBOGEN are particularly suitable for heavy and demanding applications. Conventional telehandlers, for example, reach their limits here. Therefore, the machines have firstly a large lifting height and a strong load capacity (diesel engine power 103 kW / 140 hp). Furthermore, secondly, they are equipped with permanent all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering. Therefore, they have high off-road capability, making them particularly suitable for heavy-duty applications. Thirdly, they are robust and stable, and also equipped with intuitive technology. Consequently, the components are durable and their maintenance is simple. The bottom line is that this saves time and money.

What is important for telehandlers?

  • high lifting height and lifting power
  • high payload
  • maximum load capacity
  • stable
  • small dimensions
  • high maneuverability
  • strong engine power
  • robust - even with demanding work tasks and many operating hours

What types of steering are available on a telescopic handler?

Whether in recycling, agriculture or industrial operations: Being able to maneuver flexibly is essential for efficient work with mobile construction machinery. SENNEBOGEN telehandlers are equipped with three steering modes that can be selected at the push of a button depending on the operating conditions.

Overview: Steering modes of telescopic loaders

Front axle steeringOnly the front wheels are steered (comparable to a passenger car).
All-wheel steeringAll wheels are steered when changing direction, resulting in a very small turning circle/turning radius of less than 4 m.
Crab steeringSame steering angle of front and rear wheels

Small wheel loader or telehandler? Which is better?

SENNEBOGEN telehandlers are designed for users who are looking for a machine between a wheel loader or a conventional telehandler and consequently want to combine the advantages of all machines. In the design of our machine, special emphasis has been placed on being compact and maneuverable, but at the same time robust and powerful. SENNEBOGEN telescopic loaders achieve high reach and lift height due to the telescopic boom and at the same time have enormous power due to the Z-kinematics and can thus be operated well in shovel applications. In short, our machines can be used in applications where classic telehandlers and wheel loaders cannot compete.
