The flexible recycling experts: SENNEBOGEN 818 E-Series at IFAT

For all recycling and sorting tasks, at IFAT 2014 SENNEBOGEN presents the new SENNEBOGEN 818 of the E-Series. The little brother of the 821 is impressive with its compact dimensions and the best consumption values. Wherever the task at hand is handling material in confined spaces, the new 818 trumps – whether mobile, with crawler drive or stationary with electric drive. SENNEBOGEN offers the perfect solution for every challenge.

Equipped with a 97 kW Cummins diesel engine that satisfies the current Stage IIIB directives with no compromises, the SENNEBOGEN 818 is coming to IFAT with a completely new design and optimized technology. In Aschaffenburg Germany, in an initial trial implementation at the end of 2013 the machine was put to the test in practical application and it uniformly convinced operators and developers.

In the Bavarian city of Aschaffenburg, Bernhard Westarp KG specializes in disposal and further processing of metal waste of all types. The family-run business handles approximately 1000 t a day in the Ökopark development. Here the new 818 M is deployed for sorting and loading activities on the entire site. However the machine also brings its strengths to bears inside the spacious halls, thanks to the compact dimensions.

In the development of this material handling machine particular priority was placed on offering a cost-effective alternative to large material handling devices. The machine is particularly well-suited for sorting and loading paper or for recycling materials from the waste management industry. With various equipment lengths and ULM stick the new 818 E-Series is predestined for sorting tasks. With a space saving length of 4.8 m and width of 3.60 m, the 818 M can easily maneuver. With a rear swing radius of less than 2.40 m, safe working is ensured even in the most confined space. The new comfortable maXcab is used for the first time in this machine class; it offers the operator an ideal overview and the highest level of work safety.

In Aschaffenburg the machine primarily loads trucks with stamping scrap from the electrical industry, which will be transported for further processing. The compact design permits use even in the narrowest sorting boxes. Operator Klaus Janicki has particular praise for the spacious, elevating maXcab. With a viewing height of 5.5 m, and thanks to the factory standard surround-view cameras, he always has the work area in view. The proven SENNEBOGEN Green Efficiency Technology promises efficient operation at the lowest consumption values. In test operation, diesel consumption of less than 12 liters per hour was determined in test implementation at Westarp - an outstanding result. Single-digit consumption values are also possible depending on the work implementation. Moreover, the company was able to confirm consumption reduction of as much as 20% when operating in ECO Mode.

The equipment of the SENNEBOGEN 818 is available in four variants, offering a reach up to 10 m. Only one boom and one stick cylinder are necessary in order to move all the equipment - an important advantage in terms of maintenance and ease of service. The arrangement of the cylinders below the equipment offers the sensitive seals additional protection against contamination due to falling particles and dust. At high dust burdens optimized fan reversal ensures reliable cleaning of the cooler mesh elements. The generously dimensioned cooler guarantees optimal heat dissipation. Thus the material handling machine is outstanding even in the most rigorous recycling applications. Safe working loads to 6 t can be handled comfortably. The proven SENNEBOGEN modular principle ensures an optimal machine configuration. Undercarriage variants, from mobile to crawler drives to stationary solutions, offer individual equipment possibilities. As an alternative to the conventional diesel engine, on customer request the SENNEBOGEN 818 is also available with the proven electro-hydraulic drive concept. Operating costs reduced by as much as 50%, low noise and the ability to work without stopping to refuel, as well as maximum environmental compatibility, are the key advantages.

A single source: SENNEBOGEN grapples are the perfect supplement
The highest level of precision and sensitivity are required for material handling. In this regard the boom can be considered figuratively as the extended arm of the machine operator - the attached grapple figuratively as his hands. Consequently, SENNEBOGEN has been offering its own line of grapples for demanding material handling applications for all types of goods. Whether sorting grab, multi-shell and clam shell grab, extending to magnet grabs, in the extensive product range the right attachment for every use is available from the factory.

Statement:
"The new SENNEBOGEN 818 M of the current E-Series is convincing with the highest level of operating comfort and compact dimensions. With the intelligent Green Efficiency Technology we can work extremely efficiently and we save a lot of fuel," confirms operator Klaus Janick.
