Contract sections 3, 4 and 5 of the North European gas pipeline system NEL stretch over a length of around 100 km and STREICHER Group was commissioned for the task. A new SENNEBOGEN 683 crawler is also on-site, used flexibly in concrete and pipeline construction - particularly in the construction of the five valve stations to be built on this section.
These stations are 12 x 14 m in size and 4 m deep and are needed to service and cut off the pipeline when repair work is carried out. The prefabricated concrete parts weigh up to 28 t and are lifted safely with the 683. In areas which are difficult to access or when the HGVs are unable to travel to the unloading site, the machine is used to hold the pipes forward in the ditches. They are 18 m in length, weigh 15 t and, with a diameter of 1.4 m, they are the largest pipes installed in Germany. Thanks to the crawler track, moving under load and manoeuvring in tight spaces is easy with the 683, even on difficult terrain. The 42 m telescopic boom, combined with loads of up to 80 t, offers a large work area and outstanding flexibility on the construction site.
Statement:
"The 683 is ready to use quickly and can be moved with minimal technical effort. The large range of the telescopic boom helped us enormously and saved lots of time. The robust machine is a real work tool." Richard Zunker, Senior Foreman, MAX STREICHER GmbH
