SENNEBOGEN 613 E telescopic crawler crane for the Benelux region: Bultena Verhuur a pioneer

Telescopic crawler cranes are very popular with Belgian construction companies. This is due to the enormous advantages of this concept. The range of SENNEBOGEN telescopic crawler cranes includes models with lifting capacities from 16 tonnes to 130 tonnes. The "smallest" of this range has now gone to the Netherlands.

Bultena Verhuur recently commissioned the first SENNEBOGEN 613 E in the Benelux in Werkendam. Delivered by sales and service partner Van den Heuvel, it will be used directly for a special large-scale construction project in which Bultena was able to score with the new acquisition.

Bultena Verhuur, a company specialising in rental, has grown steadily since 1990 and has also had crawler and mobile cranes in its fleet since 2018. While in the past the area of application was limited to the northern Netherlands, it now covers the entire Netherlands and Belgium.

Bultena is constantly investing in new solutions, such as the SENNEBOGEN 613 E. The 16 t Crawler Telescopic Crane is used for the first time in Vlaardingen by the contractor association Baak (Ballast Nedam and DEME). The Blankenburg connection is being built here on behalf of Rijkswaterstaat. The new A24 motorway connects the A20 near Vlaardingen (north bank) with the A15 near Rozenburg (south bank). The main objective is to reduce traffic on both highways and improve the connection of the port of Rotterdam to the Randstad conurbation. The construction of the Maas-Delta tunnel will involve the use of so-called cofferdams.

These are temporary dams to allow certain areas to be drained during the construction period. These cofferdams consist of combination walls and heavy tubular piles with sheet piling in between. The 613 E is used to place the anchor rods that hold these cofferdams together and is the ideal solution.

High stability, compact and safe

The 613 E can move safely, even under load, thanks to the crawler tracks. During operation, it is safe and stable, even on rough terrain.
With its compact dimensions, the telescopic crawler crane can be transported quickly and also has a small turning circle - an important aspect in projects where space is at an absolute premium. The Full-Power Boom enables safe telescoping, even under load.

The crane is equipped from the factory with the spacious and  1.75 m hydraulically raised Multicab cabin. A big plus for the project in Vlaardingen: Operator Annelies has a good view of the sheet pile wall and the entire excavation pit, an important aspect on this construction site. The easy-to-read Sencon display shows the current lifting data. If the maximum values are exceeded, the system intervenes.

The winch is located at the rear of the main boom and is equipped with a 14 mm hoisting rope. The maximum tractive force is 35 kN. Programs and tables can also be easily set up via Sencon. The 92 kW (125 hp) diesel engine complies with exhaust emission standard Stage IV. This ensures high environmental compatibility with low fuel consumption and low operating costs.

Henk Thole, Account Manager at Bultena and BAAK employees have found the perfect solution with the Sennebogen 613 E. Henk Thole already knew the SENNEBOGEN telescopic cranes from Germany, which are used on many construction sites there. The decision in favour of the compact telescopic crawler crane proved to be the right choice for everyone involved.

Bultena already has eight SENNEBOGEN 608 multi-cranes in operation. The company now also offers the 613 E telescopic crawler crane for hire in the Benelux countries.
