Several SENNEBOGEN material handling machines are in use at Stena Recycling in Sweden. The subsidiary of the Stena Metall Group runs recycling operations in five regions in Sweden with an extensive network from different sectors over a total of 200 sites in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Poland.
The main focus of the business in all areas is recycling raw materials from waste products over the entire economic cycle. Stena has ordered several SENNEBOGEN machines for 2011 to 201 for their sites in Sveden. The machines are delivered and serviced by the local distributor OP System. A SENNEBOGEN 825 M is providing a reliable service at the Stena Recycling site in Kiruna. The drivers work in scrap handling and load numerous containers and roll containers here in temperatures of up to - 30 degrees. The people living in the northernmost city in Sweden are used to the cold. In summer, temperatures in the region barely rise above 15 degrees and winters are dominated by constant frost, with temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees at night - a real test for both man and machine. The SENNEBOGEN was therefore fitted with special components for the difficult conditions in minus temperatures. The machine is equipped with electric pre-heating for the motor block and hydraulic oil to enable unrestricted operation even in extremely low temperatures. Electric cab pre-heating was also included for the driver. The use of low-temperature oil also offers improved viscosity and enables the machine to be used in challenging, extreme conditions. The SENNEBOGEN Vario Tool system allows operators to switch quickly between different equipment, from orange peel grab through to magnetic grab, which makes the machine an inexhaustible worker at Sweden's northernmost scrap yard.
