The new machine will be deployed on demanding projects involving coastal protection, port construction and steel hydraulic engineering.

What challenges do modern duty cycle cranes face in hydraulic engineering?

J.u.H. van der Linde has been active in the construction industry for more than 130 years and has built extensive expertise in civil engineering, building construction, pipeline construction and steel hydraulic engineering. To meet future project requirements, the company has invested in a SENNEBOGEN 670 E. With a maximum lifting capacity of 70 tonnes, the duty cycle crane significantly expands the company's capabilities for heavy lifting and assembly operations, becoming the most powerful machine of its kind in the fleet.

The investment forms part of the company's long-term fleet modernisation strategy. Acquired from the rental fleet of Gebrüder Willing GmbH, the SENNEBOGEN 670 E replaces older machines that have delivered reliable service for decades.

Jörg Hoppe, Managing Director and Head of Hydraulic Engineering at J.u.H. van der Linde, explains:

"Structural components are becoming increasingly heavier, so we have to keep pace with changing requirements. Our previous machines have served us faithfully for more than 30 years. Now it's time for them to retire and make way for the new generation represented by the SENNEBOGEN 670 E, complemented by a 643 E telescopic crawler crane. Coastal protection is one of the most important safeguards for inland areas – and there is always plenty of work for these machines."

With this investment, the company is well positioned to complete future infrastructure projects efficiently and reliably.

Long-standing partnership builds confidence

Alongside the technical capabilities of the machine, the long-standing partnership with SENNEBOGEN played an important role in the purchasing decision. For more than 30 years, a SENNEBOGEN 612 M mobile crane has been operating reliably as a yard crane at the company's Emden facility.

The positive experience gained over decades in terms of reliability, durability and cost-effectiveness was a key factor in selecting the new duty cycle crane. For J.u.H. van der Linde, not only the machine's performance but also its day-to-day availability on construction sites is of decisive importance.

How does the integrated counterweight system improve job site efficiency?

The practical advantages of the new duty cycle crane became evident during its initial assembly at the company's yard. Thanks to the integrated counterweight handling system, the SENNEBOGEN 670 E was assembled without the need for an additional assist crane. At the same time, machine operators received hands-on familiarisation with the new equipment.

Particularly on projects involving frequent relocations, this solution reduces logistical effort, shortens setup times and increases operational flexibility. In hydraulic engineering, where machines are regularly transported between different construction sites, these benefits contribute to greater efficiency and improved project productivity.
