The National Industrial Development Center (NIDC), PWS (Pipe & Well Services Co.), a subsidiary of the Saudi industrial group AHQ Group (Abdel Hadi Abdullah Al-Qahtani & Sons Co.), SENNEBOGEN and Bersy Engineering Consultancy FZE have entered into a joint venture for the local production of lattice boom crawler cranes. The investment volume amounts to SAR 220 million (€ 49.5 million). The joint venture was officially announced during the Heavy Equipment Connect (HEC) conference in Dammam.
The German–Saudi cooperation began in February 2025 and quickly gained momentum. During a delegation visit at bauma 2025, both parties already agreed on signing a Letter of Intent. At HEC in February 2026, the commitment was officially made to jointly invest in a new production facility in Dammam. The future company will primarily focus on metal processing and steel fabrication for crawler cranes production.

Erich Sennebogen: “The joint venture represents the next stage of cooperation with PWS in sales and service for our lattice boom crawler cranes. We have been supplying machines to Saudi Arabia for many years — in the future, we will also manufacture there. The primary focus will be the Saudi market, while also supporting export markets in neighbouring regions.”
The joint venture was established in close coordination with the Saudi authorities and specifically with NIDC. The initiative supports the national strategy of bringing advanced technologies into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. SENNEBOGEN contributes the necessary technology while also creating jobs in Bavaria. Overall, the target is to achieve 50 % local value creation in Saudi Arabia.

Following the official announcement of the joint venture at HEC, the focus now shifts to plant planning. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027, allowing the first crawler crane to roll off the production line as planned in 2028.
