A telescopic crawler crane in special underground construction implementation in Singapore

Robust, flexible, and powerful - with these attributes the SENNEBOGEN telescopic cranes are convincing anywhere in the world. It is likely that there is nowhere on earth where the density of these cranes is as high as it is in the huge metropolis of Singapore. For example this is where the firm, Guan Chuan Engineering & Construction relies on a SENNEBOGEN 683 R-HD for sheet pile wall construction.

Guan Chuan Engineering Construction PTE Ltd. specializes as a service provider in the area of demanding installation of sheet pile walls and foundation tasks. Thank to years of experience and special equipment, Guan Chuan is capable of driving in sheet pile walls even under the most difficult conditions, such as hard rock or areas that are sensitive to vibration. In this regard, the firm uses a so-called crush piler that is mounted in suspension on a SENNEBOGEN 683 telescopic crawler crane. The particularity associated with this type of pile wall construction is the simultaneous drilling out of the substrate via an auger drill and driving in of the pile walls. Thus, even the most difficult ground conditions can be overcome, and the method is certainly quiet and free of vibration, as compared with conventional vibrators.

With the SENNEBOGEN 683 R-HD, which the Singapore Sales Partner, Aly Energy, delivered at the beginning of 2014 a telescopic crane of the latest generation has been placed in service. Equipped with the robust Starlifter undercarriage with a 4.40 m track width, the machine is not only extremely stable, it can also be conveniently moved and can also be promptly converted even under load. Thus the machine remains flexible even in confined spaces. The 683 R-HD is powered by a powerful 186 kW diesel engine. The 42 m long boom can be variably telescoped. As compared to conventional cranes, this crane is ready for operation in a few minutes, and can also be quickly retracted due to wind and weather - a safety criterion for man and machine.

Thanks to the robust design of the full-power boom, the machine is particularly well-suited for these demanding applications, which are the order of the day at Guan Chuan with the attached hammer drill. The solid structural steelwork safely absorbs even major vibration, and safe working loads to 80 t are ensured. The Maxcab, which can be tilted 20 degrees, offers the operator an ideal overview and the highest level of work safety. The operator can perform simple maintenance operations himself, thanks to the easy to understand machine design that is typical for SENNEBOGEN. The local Sales and Service Partner, Aly Energy handles the regular service; in addition to the SENNEBOGEN 683 HD, Guan Chuan also uses two smaller telescopic cranes, a 613 R, and a 653 R.

Statement:
The SENNEBOGEN telescopic cranes are particularly characterized by their flexibility and high reliability. Thanks to the robust design and high safe working loads to 80 t, the SENNEBOGEN 683 R-HD is particularly well suited for our demanding pile wall applications.
