    Erich Sennebogen, aged 21, found his own company making agricultural machinery in Pilling near Straubing, Lower Bavaria.

  • 1953

    The company is growing quickly and soon has 13 employees. The first SENNEBOGEN manure loaders are built.

  • 1957

    The first mechanical SENNEBOGEN HD crawler cranes are developed and produced for the construction industry.

  • 1959

    The rapid growth of the company forces SENNEBOGEN to expand: A new plant is opened at the train station in Straubing.

  • 1960

    The 1000th automatic excavator leaves the plant in 1960.

  • 1963

    Just like today, all products produced by the company back then are characterised by one thing: the focus on designing and producing our own solutions where possible. The motto "there's no such thing as can't" is applied throughout the company by Erich Sennebogen.

  • 1964

    Alongside the traditional mechanical duty cycle crawler cranes, SENNEBOGEN develops the first hydraulic excavators from 1962, which enter production for the first time in 1964.

  • 1966

    Innovation: the first duty cycle crawler crane with hydraulic lattice boom folding function, ensuring that the machine can be transported easily and be ready for use quickly. These innovative machines are also launched on the market as truck-mounted cranes.

  • 1969

    World premiere: SENNEBOGEN develops the world’s first fully hydraulic duty cycle crawler crane. With its combination-winch pre-selection function, the machine represents a milestone in HD cycle crawler crane technology.

    The first SENNEBOGEN hydraulic excavator with modern plastic chassis and wide angle of vision is produced.

  • 1972

    The SK 15 with luffing fly boom in structural engineering: the mobile prefabricated house crane for pre-fabrication parts - a special market requirement from Holland.

  • 1973

    The company recognises the opportunities of internationalisation early on and has been actively using them since 1973: globalisation and export help spread awareness for the SENNEBOGEN brand - including in the Arab states and Africa.

  • 1974

    SENNEBOGEN guarantees both availability and reliability - all over the world! Specific market requirements, such as the extremely low temperatures in Siberia/Ust Ilimsk, lead to pioneering developments.

  • 1976

    SENNEBOGEN develops a fully hydraulic HD crawler crane with hydraulic elevating cab.

  • 1980

    World premiere: SENNEBOGEN develops the hydraulically adjusting articulated boom (GAUH). This innovation changes the face of the hydraulic excavator market and is still the global standard today.

  • 1984

    Since 1984, SENNEBOGEN has been developing and producing all kinds of special carrier machines. Well-known customers successfully use these special devices all over the world.

  • 1986

    Innovation: SENNEBOGEN supplies the first SR 28 special - a pioneering development for modern, effective material handling.

    Innovation: SENNEBOGEN develops machines with a boom range of 20 m for effective, stationary material handling.

    The SENNEBOGEN crawler excavator SR 28 is awarded the Stuttgart Design Prize at Bauma 1986.

  • 1989

    Development order for the quietest excavator in the world! SENNEBOGEN receives the Blue Angel environmental symbol for the quietest mobile excavator over 10 t.

  • 1990

    The decision to build another plant in Wackersdorf is the next step in the expansion strategy. An ultra-modern production plant for mobile excavators is developed on a 160,000 m2 site

  • 1992

    Innovation: SENNEBOGEN designs a unique telescopic crane with mobile or crawler undercarriage and trend-setting technology.

  • 1996

    The company takes over and modernises a supplier in Hungary, Balatonfüred, and develops it into a modern supplier for steel assemblies and weld constructions in just a short time.

  • 1996

    SENNEBOGEN bundles its longstanding experience and creates a completely new range of high-performance material handling machines: the green line range is born.

  • 1997

    Erich Sennebogen sen. is named the founding president of the Vereinigung der Bayerischen Wirtschaft e.V. (Bavarian Business Association).

  • 2000

    American sales and service operation established in Stanley, North Carolina, USA, under the name SENNEBOGEN LLC.

  • 2003

    Launch of the 305 Multihandler with elevating driver’s cab – the first of its kind in the world.

  • 2005

    Innovation: The new 7 series for wood handling celebrates its premiere.

  • 2005

    The ASAM 4* hotel in Straubing is completed and opened with a high investment of SENNEBOGEN: with five conference rooms for up to 250 participants, ASAM is a leading conference hotel in the Lower Bavaria region.

    Innovation: SENNEBOGEN works with dealers and customers to develop and produce the 608 Multicrane with elevating cab - a powerful all-round machine for construction.

  • 2008

    Construction of the additional plant 2 in the industrial park Straubinger Hafen with a total area of 125,000 m² and an investment of more than 30 million euro.

  • 2009

    Foundation of the subsidiary SENNEBOGEN Pte. Ltd. in Singapore in the German Center.

  • 2010

    Opening of the expanded American site close to Charlotte with spare parts depot and own training rooms and halls. Management of over 50 dealers with 250 service support centres.

  • 2010

    Presentation at bauma and launch of the new 7700 crawler crane in the new 300 ton class – with a simple and cost-saving transport concept.

  • 2010

    Bauma 2010 marked the launch of our new motto "Go for Green".

  • 2011

    On 21 March 2011, our company founder Erich Sennebogen sen. passed away at the age of 79, having guided the Company safely for almost six decades.

  • 2012

    SENNEBOGEN celebrates its 60th anniversary! The logo stands for 60 successful years: the individual "rocks" represent the sales and service partners of the company, the "diamonds" represent the four production sites and subsidiaries.

    Innovation: SENNEBOGEN successfully launches the new E series with Green Efficiency technology on the market. The fuel-saving and environment-friendly high-performance machines are perfectly suited to challenging continuous use in material handling.

    At bauma 2013 SENNEBOGEN exhibited on 2120 m² bigger than ever and formed again the „green heart“ of bauma.  

  • 2013

    SENNEBOGEN LLC expands warehouse facility for 45,000 sq. ft.. On more than 100,000 sq. ft. the facility of North America's largest retailer of material handlers combines administrative and sales offices with a training center and a parts warehouse.

    Expansion of the ****4 Superior Hotel ASAM with over 100 rooms, ballroom and spa.

    With the opening of the SENNEBOGEN Academy and the Erich Sennebogen Museum in May 2014, the family company sets another milestone in the company history. In its facilities, the SENNEBOGEN Academy GmbH & Co. KG houses a modern machine training center, including demonstration site, next to generously-dimensioned training and conference rooms.

    With the new SENNEBOGEN 6113, the Lower-Bavarian crane manufacturer presents its biggest telescopic crawler crane yet. 120 t safe working load, a proven boom concept, and the high level of flexibility characterize the new SENNEBOGEN. With the 6113 the copany, headquartered in Straubing, Germany, extends the maximum safe working load of its telescopic cranes upwards by 50%.

    Expansion plant 3 in Wackersdorf – Construction of a new 4000 m2  manufacturing hall.

  • 2016

    77 dealers from 55 different countries were present at the 2016 SENNEBOGEN bauma booth and special highlights, like the 300t Duty Cycle Crane 6300 HD, were presented in front of the international audience.

  • 2017

    In May 2017 SENNEBOGEN enters the productarea of Mobile port cranes with the 9300 E. The 9300 E from SENNEBOGEN boasts a high load capacity across the entire work area, while the mobile undercarriage with all-wheel steering with 14 wheel sets ensures maneuverability and a low ground pressure.

    In 2017, SENNEBOGEN expanded the plant at the port in Straubing by 35,000 m².
