This year, 50 young people are starting their apprenticeships at SENNEBOGEN - more than ever before. This marks a new apprenticeship record for the family-owned company and highlights the importance it places on developing its own young talent. From day one, the new apprentices are supported by experienced trainers, encouraged to develop their individual strengths and gradually introduced to their future responsibilities. Right from the start, they are an important part of the large SENNEBOGEN family.
The competition for qualified employees poses major challenges for industrial companies. SENNEBOGEN is addressing this trend with a clear strategy: training skilled workers in-house from an early stage, providing them with individualized support, and offering them long-term career prospects within the company. Through a total of 20 apprenticeship and vocational training programs, the family-owned company offers young people a wide range of entry-level opportunities—from technical and industrial roles to business-related careers and future-oriented specializations.
The fact that this approach has a lasting impact is demonstrated by the retention rate of more than 95 percent. For the vast majority of graduates, their professional journey continues at SENNEBOGEN after successfully completing their training. In this way, the company not only creates attractive opportunities for young people but also systematically builds up expertise for the future.

At the start of the apprenticeship year, a varied program awaited the new colleagues at all locations. After a welcome address by management, they got to know their trainers and their new teams, received important organizational information, and gained their first insights into the world of SENNEBOGEN. It became clear right from the start: Here, training means being an integral part of the company, taking on responsibility, and gaining hands-on experience.
Experienced trainers guide the trainees every step of the way. In addition to in-depth technical knowledge, the focus is on personal development, working independently, and team cohesion. As a family-owned company, SENNEBOGEN aims not only to give young people a strong start to their careers but also to offer them a long-term professional home.
To further strengthen the foundation for modern, hands-on training, a new training center is currently being built at the Straubing site. This investment creates additional space for learning, collaboration, and the development of technical skills. It also represents a clear commitment to in-house training and to the region as an industrial hub.
The new center is part of a long-term training strategy. It is designed to create optimal conditions for closely integrating theoretical foundations with practical experience and to specifically prepare young talent for the demands of an increasingly technology-driven workforce.

The training expertise built up over decades is not limited to the German locations. SENNEBOGEN is increasingly applying its proven apprenticeship model to its international subsidiaries as well. For example, a completely new training center—designed according to the German model—is currently being built at the subsidiary SENNEBOGEN LLC in North Carolina. With this training program—a first for SENNEBOGEN in the U.S.—future employees will receive hands-on training in accordance with the family-owned company’s proven quality standards. Experience and training concepts from Germany form the foundation for this initiative. In this way, SENNEBOGEN is strengthening its ability to secure skilled workers not only at its German locations but increasingly on an international scale as well.
Since 1952, SENNEBOGEN has been developing and manufacturing material-handling and crane technology equipment that is now in use worldwide. Behind this success are people with knowledge, experience, ideas, and passion. Passing on this expertise to the next generation in a targeted manner is a crucial building block for the company’s future viability.
With a record-breaking class of 2026, a wide range of 20 apprenticeship and vocational training programs, a high retention rate, the new training center in Straubing, and the internationalization of its training model, SENNEBOGEN is consistently expanding its commitment. The message to the 50 new apprentices is clear:
Welcome to SENNEBOGEN—we’re glad you’re here and look forward to you helping shape the big SENNEBOGEN family starting today.
