Soil compaction

The technique of dynamic soil compaction increases the storage density of soils. It is mostly used for backfills, construction and demolition waste, and for a geological soil structure with large voids. It involves repeatedly dropping a heavy drop weight - for example, a drop plate - from a great height. The kinetic energy generated by the pressure of the impact penetrates the soil layers and compacts them. Other compaction methods include vibro-compaction and vibro-pressure compaction.

SENNEBOGEN duty cycle cranes are particularly suitable for soil compaction measures because they are heavy-duty and have very high stability due to very wide crawler tracks. The lifting and falling of the drop weight is electronically controlled by the free-fall automatic system, so that the braking of the winches is automatically controlled, slack rope is avoided and the load on all components is reduced.

Advantages of our SENNEBOGEN duty cycle cranes for dynamic soil compaction

Optimum rope guide and low wear

The sheave shield ensures optimum rope guide and prevents the ropes from slipping off the sheaves. The steel rope sheaves are extremely wear-resistant.
