Pink Panther in Switzerland: SENNEBOGEN 718 forest telescopic crane in use

The new SENNEBOGEN 718, which the Swiss firm, fällag AG, has been using since mid 2013 for landscaping and harvesting of energy wood, has more than an impressive exterior. The forest telescopic crane, painted pink, convinces through the highest level of flexibility and innovative technology.

Pink is the traditional company color of fällag AG, headquartered in Lindau Switzerland; the firm has specialized in the special felling of trees of any size for more than 20 years. The company has been working with a new SENNEBOGEN 718 M since 2013, at many deployment sites in forests and on many public traffic sites. The mobile machine can be equipped with different attachments depending on the requirement. Whether thinning out the edge of forest, or felling problem trees on boulevards and in gardens, here the SENNEBOGEN 718 with an attached grab saw is used. Thanks to the compact dimensions and the short tail swing radius of less than 3 m, the machine works safely and with particular ease in traffic. Large-scale road closings can thus be avoided. Thanks to a reach of 13 m, the telescopic boom can grasp selected trees and remove them - for extremely safe work. It also works effortlessly across obstacles, such as noise barrier walls or ditches.

Fällag AG also mulches embankments with the machine. The attached Fecon forest mulcher even chops rootstocks to 30 cm in diameter, and thus ensures fast and clean work. In this regard, the comfortable Multicab, which can be elevated to a viewing height of more than 4 m, offers an optimal overview of fills and road embankments. However, the stable and wide single tires on the 718 provide stability even on impassable ground. The robust undercarriage of the SENNEBOGEN with 2-point support and a support plate evenly distributes the load and stays put even under maximum loads. Weighing only 19.5 tons, the SENNEBOGEN 718 is also very easy to transport. The machine drives short distances autonomously at speeds up to 22 km/h; a normal flatbed truck is used for longer distances.
